Brie Fit

Sneak peek

Posted on February 22, 2012 by admin

After a few really horrible days of nausea, it looks like I got a preview of second tri today!

For a solid twelve hours (6 am to 6 pm), I felt GOOD.  It was seriously awesome.  I didn’t even need my morning Zofran today.  Okay, I had very minor queasiness, but I felt great otherwise.  I wasn’t exhausted, and most foods actually sounded semi-appealing.  If I hadn’t been having some other aches and pains down low, I would actually be nervous!

But then, 6 pm hit, it had been six hours since my last meal, and I started feeling crappy again.  Oh well.  Tim made a frozen pasta meal out of a bag, we ate, and of course I felt better.

And then I made muffins that taste like donuts.

Having the energy to bake is a HUGE step.  Seriously.

I think I’ve said it before, but it is nice to have occasional good days.  I’m hoping that within the next few weeks, the good days will start to outnumber the bad!

Our NT scan is on Monday, and if I’m still having good days then, I plan to return to CrossFit.  Ever since my scare last week, I’ve been continuing the pelvic rest thing just in case.  But I think that if we have a third good ultrasound, I’ll finally be able to relax a little bit.

5pm [cocktail hour] is my worst time of day. But I’m feeling much, much better too!

Wow your NT scan is early – I have mine tomorrow! Good luck!

Yeah, my doctor’s office scheduled it for me right at 11 weeks, 1 day–pretty much the earliest you can get it. I didn’t have a say in it, but I can’t say I mind! Good luck with your NT scan!

Glad you had a good day! This is going to my most random comment ever- but have you tried chewing ginger gum? I find it at the pharmacy near the dramamine and I take it on planes or anything where I’m getting motion sick. Today I just noticed it said it can be used for morning sickness, so it might be worth a try!

I’ve heard ginger is good, but I hate ginger even when I’m not pregnant and nauseous. So I don’t think it would go over well now!

Happy to hear you could be turning a corner. How far along are you again?

I have been doing acupuncture to help with headaches, fatigue, and morning – all day – sickness. I’ve neve done it before but it seems to be helping. I have my first apt at 12 weeks so I have a few weeks to get there. Ah… The waiting is killing me. Also the food aversions. Though I was able to pick up my beloved smoothie again for breeky yesterday. That was nice!

I’ll be 11 weeks on Sunday! If I’ve learned anything these last few weeks, it’s eat what you can, when you can.

I made those muffins the minute I got home. Am now enjoying them with a cup of tea – so delicious! Thanks for the link!

Also very glad to hear you’re having moments of relief. May they be more plentiful in the second trimester!

  5. Glad you had a good day! Hope they become more frequent! And those muffins look delicious.

I love all these pregnancy recaps by bloggers – I feel like I’ll be so prepared if I ever have a child. Though I suppose it is different for everybody!

  6. Love the cloth diapers! They are addicting. And I’m glad I’m not the only one who experienced the sneeze pain. I used to dread sneezing.
